Bent Rods Jig Tying Seminars
Posted on November 29th 2013, by Bent Rods Guiding and Fishing Co.
With winter slowly creeping up on anglers in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, it is time to switch gear and focus on the upcoming steelhead fishery. The popularity of one technique for targeting winter steelhead has grown in recent years. Float fishing with a colourful jig has been proven to be deadly. Like fly fishing, effective jigs can be tied at home with the right material and tools.
This December, Bent Rods Guiding and Fishing Co. in Chilliwack will be offering several jig tying seminars at their guest house to get you started. Instructor Rod Toth is a successful Fraser Valley salmon, steelhead and sturgeon fishing guide, whose specialties are his jig tying and fishing. His Bent Rods jigs can be found at most tackle stores in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
Each seminar is 3 to 4 hours long. These seminars will provide you with all the information and skills needed to catch both salmon and steelhead with your own creations. Students will leave the seminar with at least four jigs tied on their own. Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. The cost is $50.00/person.
The seminars are available on the following dates and times.
- Friday December 6th 2013 at 7:00pm
- Saturday January 11th 2014 at 6:00pm
- Saturday January 25th 2014 at 6:00pm
- Saturday February 22nd 2014 at 6:00pm
- Saturday March 15th 2014 at 6:00pm
The guest house also has overnight accommodation available for students who wish to stay the night and fish for steelhead on the following day. Each suite is $100/night. Two bedrooms are available and each room has a queen and a double bed. Full kitchens, bathrooms are available at the guest house to cater all your needs.
